At Relax The Back’s annual convention featuring almost 100 storeowners and dozens of vendors, Steve and Kathy Waldron, long time owners of the Relax The Back store in Lubbock, Texas were recently named Relax The Back Franchisees of the Year.
Recipients are awarded based on their dedication to the business, high standards of customer service, overall sales and contributions to the franchise system. “It’s an art and a science,” said Dick Palfreyman, CEO, Relax The Back. “It’s a big responsibility, and we owe it to our hard-working franchisees to look at everyone’s contributions throughout the year.”
Steve and Kathy have been franchise owners in Lubbock, Texas since 1993 and truly share the vision of the brand, acting as model franchisees. Upon receiving the award, Richard Palfreyman, adds, “Steve and Kathy are wonderful franchisees and great ambassadors of our brand and two of the nicest people I know.”
This honor, known as Relax The Back’s Jerry Swerdlow Franchisee of the Year Award is named for Jerry Swerdlow, a pioneering owner since the company’s got its start in 1984. The Swerdlow family owned the #1 store in sales 13 times before Jerry passed away in 2004. Today, Jerry’s daughters, Robyn and Marcy, continue his legacy, owning successful stores in Chicago, Lincolnshire, IL, and Northbrook, IL.
